An accredited investor is a person or entity that meets certain financial criteria set by the SEC. Generally, this includes:
- Individuals with income exceeding $200,000 (or $300,000 with a spouse) in each of the prior two years and reasonably expecting the same for the current year
- Individuals with a net worth over $1 million (alone or with a spouse), excluding the value of their primary residence
- Holders of certain professional licenses (Series 7, 65, or 82)
