Good afternoon,
You are invited to the online launch of SEC Newgate’s third ‘Global ESG Monitor: What the community expects from corporates on ESG’ on 11 October 2023 at 12noon Dubai Time (10am CEST).
We know that reputation and meaningful action on ESG issues are inextricably linked and that our clients are grappling with the best ways to deliver on community expectations in these areas. Some are seeking to understand where they have ‘permission to play’ in terms of making a positive difference, some are questioning if they’re communicating about the right initiatives, and others are wondering whether their communications is getting cut-through.
SEC Newgate ESG Monitor research examines the views of more than 12,000 people across 12 countries, to provide their perspective on the issues that are important to them. The results suggest that community expectations for actions by corporates on ESG around the world have reached a tipping point, suggesting genuine action is no longer up for debate.
The research examines questions like:
· How interested are people in ESG issues, particularly in the context of rising cost of living? What ESG issues are most important to people right now?
· What are the community’s expectations of corporates in this space? How do they rate their performance?
· Should corporates talk about the ESG actions they take? Should they speak out on topical issues? What actions by corporates are having the most impact?
· How big an issue is greenwashing?
· What are employees expecting from their employers when it comes to ESG actions?
These and other questions will be adressed by our panelists:
· Geraldine Ang, Senior Policy Analyst, Finance and Investment and Global Relations Division, Environment Directorate, OECD
· Ilaria d’Acquila, People & Culture Director Italy, Manpower Group
· Patrick Sochnikoff, Group SVP Corporate and Social Responsibility and Chief D&I Officer, Sodexo Group
· Gillian Tett, Chair of the editorial board and editor-at-large US, Financial Times
· Andrew Adie, Head of Green & Good and Corporate reputation, SEC Newgate UK
· Sue Vercoe, Partner & Managing Director, Research, SEC Newgate Australia
The roundtable will be moderated by Naomi Kerbel, Communications Director at SEC Newgate UK, and a former TV and broadcast reporter.
