Risk Register
It would be great if we could have a risk register for each company in the portfolio, so we can track risks/mitigations identified during due diligence and assign tasks for mitigations.

Risk: Company needs to execute option to license university IP. Mitigations: 1. Understand status of IP, patentability, 2. Determine economic value of IP, 3. Finalize negotiation with tech transfer office for license, 4. Execute exclusive license, pay required licensing fees, 5. Confirm IP is on docket with general/IP counsel to track office actions/maintenance fees.

what would your thoughts be on manually creating diligence tasks to track such work?

This wouldn't have an assignee, but it would at least be a trackable item in the memo.
