Hello,

I have been running into a number of issues with the deal flow backend of the platform. I updated the intake form for startups to submit their pitch decks and company information with the goal of optimizing deal flow and enriching it with AI. We wish to use this data in a number of ways including decision making, valuation, newsletters, etc. However, I seem to have hit a wall on several fronts, and hoping you might be able help:

1. I added a few custom parameters in one company but now cannot edit or remove them. They appear in all the company profiles. How do I modify or remove them?

2. It seems all the custom data from the form goes into the response section, but I cannot map those to particular data points explicitly. Is it possible to do this automatically?

3. The AI enrichment is not consistent. It misses certain data points, ignores others, and does not assign values to specific ones such as tags, business models, and industries. It also does not update the data when I submit or modify entries. The text input always returns an error, so I am not sure how to get that working.

4. The form user interface does not allow selection of drop down as an input type. This would be very helpful to limit the text scope for certain questions.

5. I was hoping to bypass the AI enrichment by using our own LLM to enrich the data and post it back, but I cannot seem to map the data correctly. The API does not allow me to map to particular data points. It seems only a few fields can be mapped while the rest are placed in custom_data_points. It is not clear where this data lives or how to access and edit it. Furthermore, it seems the AI completely ignores the custom data points when updating the custom parameters. How do I use the API to enrich the data manually?

6. Using the API I can get the deals by prospectable_id, but how can I filter the companies in the pipeline to get the newest ones only? Is there a way to sort or filter by certain stages or do I have to manually read each one?

7. When a deck is uploaded by the startup, the deck_url is not set with the link to the data room. There should be a public URL akin to dropbox link that is accessible publicly if we wish to share it. It's very difficult to access the deck directly from the pipeline.

I appreciate your help with these issues.

Thanks
David

Hey David, this is great feedback, thanks for all these details. Give me some time to digest this and get back to you.
Hi @Woody Butler , following up on this. It seems that if I paste my AI content into the AI form assistant, it does a pretty good job of updating our custom data points and other key form fields (e.g. tags, business models, etc).

What I would love to be able to do is automate this by either posting custom data directly to these fields, or triggering the AI Form Assist remotely to update / enrich the fields accordingly.

Any idea if this would be possible to set up?

Thanks
David
David, thanks for all this feedback! Some answers, some feature requests logged.

#1. You can find and modify these custom data points under Settings -> Variables -> User Variables. You should be able to both delete, and toggle whether they show for new prospects by default.

#2. No, we don't have those questionnaire answers mapped into the prospect directly, they just live on the linked response.

#3. We were experiencing an outage on the AI form filler when you posted that, sorry about this issue. We shipped a fix for this Thursday April 2nd. Please let us know if you encounter this again.

#4. Noted! You aren't the only one to request this, this is on our roadmap.

#5. Can you let me know which additional data points you'd like exposed to the API? We are planning significant upgrades to the API over the coming weeks, so we'd love to hear any specific fields that would be helpful.

#6. Our API docs for pipeline prospects https://decilehub.com/docs/api#/PipelineProspects/get_api_v1_pipeline_prospects outline filtering by the 'created_after' parameter. I think that will fit your uses well. You can also order_by created/updated as well.

#7. This makes total sense, adding to our roadmap.

This is a neat idea! We will consider it! More and more of our users are integrating the API via their own LLM-based workflows, (which would be redundant with this), but I'll raise this with the team and see what they think. As a soft rule we prefer our APIs to be respondent within faster speeds than a typical LLM call, so I'm unsure. (We may do some testing with faster, cheaper models)
