How to View Event Page Click Tracking Analytics (?trk= Parameters)

Tags: events, analytics, tracking, networking, trk

Overview

Decile Hub includes built-in click tracking for event pages using ?trk= URL parameters. This lets you measure which channels (email, LinkedIn, website, etc.) drive the most event page views and RSVPs.

Setting Up Tracking

Append ?trk= followed by a source label to any event URL:
  • https://yourfirm.decile.app/e/abc123?trk=email
  • https://yourfirm.decile.app/e/abc123?trk=website
  • https://yourfirm.decile.app/e/abc123?trk=newsletter

The label after ?trk= is freeform — use whatever source names make sense for your campaigns. Visits without a ?trk= parameter are recorded as "no_tracking_code."

Viewing Analytics

To view tracking analytics for an event:

1. Navigate to Networking > Events in the left navigation
2. Click on the event you want to analyze
3. On the event detail page, you'll see three analytics panels:
  • Event Page Views — total number of page views for the event
  • Tracking Code Performance — a bar chart showing page views broken down by tracking code (e.g., linkedin, email, website)
  • RSVPs by Tracking Code — a bar chart showing confirmed RSVPs broken down by tracking code
These panels are visible to event organizers on the event show page.

How It Works
  • When someone visits your event page with a ?trk= parameter, the visit is recorded automatically
  • Each visitor is counted once per day (repeat visits within 24 hours are deduplicated)
  • When a visitor RSVPs, their tracking source is associated with the RSVP record
  • This lets you see not just which channels drive views, but which channels drive actual registrations

Tips
  • Use consistent tracking codes across campaigns (e.g., always linkedin not sometimes `LinkedIn` or `li`)
  • Share different tracked URLs in different channels to compare performance
  • Check the RSVPs by tracking code chart to identify which channels have the best conversion rates, not just the most views

Great question! Decile Hub has built-in click tracking for event pages. Here's how it works:

Setting Up Tracking

Append ?trk= plus a source label to your event URL:
- https://yourfirm.decile.app/e/abc123?trk=email
- https://yourfirm.decile.app/e/abc123?trk=newsletter

The label is freeform, so use whatever makes sense for your campaigns. Visits without a ?trk= parameter are recorded as "notrackingcode."

Viewing the Analytics

  1. Go to Networking > Events in the left nav
  2. Click on the event you want to analyze
  3. On the event detail page, you'll see three panels:
    • Event Page Views - total views
    • Tracking Code Performance - page views broken down by source
    • RSVPs by Tracking Code - confirmed RSVPs broken down by source

A few tips:
- Use consistent casing (e.g., always linkedin, not sometimes LinkedIn or li)
- Check the RSVPs by tracking code chart to see which channels convert best, not just which drive the most views
- Each visitor is counted once per day, so repeat visits within 24 hours are deduplicated
