Hi, is there a UK equivalent of a PACT - perhaps an LPA - (with Sterling GBP as currency) available please?

Thanks

Yes, you can use a PACT or LPA with GBP (Sterling) as the currency on Decile Hub. While you cannot change the currency yourself, Decile Hub supports GBP and several other currencies. You can request the change by contacting Decile Hub support, and they will update your account to use GBP for all PACTs, LPAs, and investment data. Please note that the currency setting applies across your entire account, so all amounts will be shown in GBP once changed.

For more details, see:

How do I contact Decile Hub support? Thanks

Hi  @Ian Merricks
, sorry about the slightly inaccurate reply. You have the ability to set your currency (just once, we don't allow editing it multiple times) by default. We put this warning in front of currency changes since it's an account-wide change, and we want managers to be sure.

I'd recommend only changing your currency if you're confident you'll be raising the entire fund in 1 currency. If that's the case, you can change this by going to Settings -> Firm Settings and selecting a currency there. Once selected, the PACT and many other forms will use the appropriate currency symbol.
Thanks  @Woody Butler
 - have changed. How do I ask Support re: a UK equivalent (LPA?) of the PACTs please? Thanks, Ian
@Ian Merricks
Your pact now displays with GBP. An LPA is a very different agreement, as that is a binding legal contract to enter a fund as an investor. If you want to clarify any of these terms, asking our AI can provide some expert advice on this topic.

LPAs and the fund formation process are an involved legal service. This is something we work with in Decile Partners, with those who are ready for it.

Thanks. Ideally there would be a UK friendly version of the PACT not referencing US Securities law. But I understand its non binding, so some of our predominantly UK HNWs may still be OK signing this.

Last question for now, the PACT doesn't reference any drawdown schedule.  What should we share with an LP if they ask when is the cash needed i.e. a £100k PACT isn't required all upfront, its likely to be drawn inline with the fund's deployment period, over a few years. I think if they understand this, they will commit to a higher PACT commitment. Cheers, Ian

Ah, regarding the text on the PACT, the text is fully customizable. If you go to Fundraising -> PACT -> PACT settings, you can change the text, e.g. remove any references to the US Securities act.

I can't guide you too much on fundraising strategy with LPs, nor how much you'll need to educate your specific LPs on the VC asset class.
If you ask the AI that exact question " the PACT doesn't reference any drawdown schedule.  What should we share with an LP if they ask when is the cash needed i.e. a £100k PACT isn't required all upfront, its likely to be drawn inline with the fund's deployment period, over a few years." it gives a pretty stellar answer though.
Yes, Im loving the AI here! My thesis is now 4.8...

Thanks Woody, appreciated.
