"Generate Custom PACT link" has a bug and does not work when emailing it. I did the following:
... but it doesn't work -- that is, it does NOT create the custom link, as it's supposed to. See the #s I've entered above-right: 300, 400...? Well, when I clicked Send to myself, and click the link in that email I receive, it takes me to my same old webpage with my regular #s (150, 300...):
I suspect that the root of the problem is that it is NOT copying or inserting the correct link into the email that is sent. Why? Because when instead of hitting the Send button I instead hit the left button to Preview this PACT Page I see this -- the CORRECT custom webpage:
I don't know what you mean by << then open it in a private/incognito window >> -- do you mean, can I copy the link and paste it into a new email that I compose outside of Decile Hub? If that's what you mean, yes -- I CAN copy-paste the correct link: https://treasurecoastventures.decilehub.com/pacts?pid=WnwOlwn4&l=300000&m=400000&h=500000&min=150000 And that shows the same correct info as if I hit "Preview this PACT Page" as I said/showed above.
Since that's the case, this is likely just due to some saved state. Notice in the PACT page with incorrect info that there is a dgrid value in the url, which is an ID that will load a partially completed PACT. This is so that if someone partially completes a PACT, then closes the browser, then opens the browser again and opens the PACT again, their progress will be saved.
To verify that this is what's happening, you can:
Generate the pact link
Email it via the "Send this PACT link in an email" to yourself
Assuming you are using a browser-based email client, go to to the email and right click on the link, then click -> " Open link in incognito window"
This should show you the newly configured PACT.
If you aren't using a browser based email client, then there should still be a way to copy the link, and then paste it into a new private/incognito window in your browser.
I don't see how it could be this <<due to some saved state>>, because I generated a test email to myself. And then I clicked the link in the email I received, and it's the wrong info (the standard Pact #s) ... YET when I copy the link and paste it into my (same Chrome) browser, OR click "Preview this PACT Page" -- both of those actions show the correct Pact #s.
Robert, let's hop on a zoom when you have time so I can see what you're seeing. Here's my calendly, hopefully some time on here is convenient for you: https://calendly.com/travis-giggy
Hello Robert, just popping in to let you know that a couple of the issues you discovered have been fixed:
Sending test emails will work more consistently now. The root of the problem was the check we do behind the scenes to make sure somebody doesn't accidentally get spammed by the system and disallows sending the same email to the same person within 24 hours. We now bypass this check for test emails.
PACT link email will not reload and disappear when you add a To person to the email. However, if you apply a template it will still overwrite whatever content is already in the email body.
<<a couple of the issues you discovered have been fixed>> Thanks Travis. I don't remember if these were the ONLY TWO (2) issues -- is everything fixed now? I need to know because I'm about to send some more custom PACTs.
