At a base level, pipelines consist of three main components: Prospects, Stages, and Tasks / Actions. • Prospects are simply the people or organizations that are being managed.  • Prospects can be added or removed from a pipeline and will hold details about the person/organization and their progress through the pipeline. • Stages are logical steps that a Prospect follows along.   • For example, a Fundraising pipeline will have several Stages that go from Added, through communication steps, all the way to Closed or Declined. • Within each Stage, there is a series of Tasks / Actions that define exactly what steps are (manually or automatically) followed to determine what happens with a Prospect.  • For example, the Tasks / Actions within a Stage may send an email to the Prospect, and then wait for the Prospect to interact with the email to progress to another Stage. • Please note that all of these components are configurable.
